…Book seven lacks much of the charm and humour that distinguished Rowling’s earliest books.” Writer Mary Carole McCauley

Personally I, like many others find the last Harry Potter satisfying as an end to the series. It is well written and answers any questions that have been on our minds since the first chapter of the first book all those years ago, as well as containing some pleasant and unsettling surprises. Despite her fortune being estimated at £545 million Rowling delivers the same, if not better book from all of the others.

However if you have not yet finished reading the last book you have all of these enjoyable yet sometimes chilling surprises in store.

‘Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix’ has been released for sometime now, but I have not had a chance to see it. I was slightly disappointed by the bad reviews that I have read on the Internet about it, yet was pleased by the good reviews it received in the newspapers. Personally I found ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’ (the film) to be complete rubbish. It did not stay true to the book that was jam packed full of detail and excitement. The film also misses out my favourite scene from the book- the kitchens in Hogwarts. This, to me is a key part to the storyline as it explains Winky’s (Barty Crouch’s house elf) involvement with Barty Crouch Jr and how she helps protect him under the invisibility cloak.

Although there are many faults in ‘the Order of the Phoenix’ it does not stop me from enjoying all of the other films. My favourite so far has been ‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban’. Although the book was admittedly not my favourite, I still enjoyed the film because of the dark way it was portrayed. I also loved the way the special effects were used in the scenes with the time-turner. I also liked the techniques that were used on the ‘whomping willow’.

In general I feel that out of the Potter films that I have seen ‘the Prisoner of Azkaban’ has been the best made one and it is the film that I loved the most.
