This term Year 7 have been extremely lucky as DGGS Library signed up to a nation wide scheme called ‘Booked-Up’. This scheme gave every year 7 in our school the opportunity to choose a free book. There were 12 different titles they could choose from. Many of the Year 7’s found it very hard to choose as the choice available was really excellent.
Even if you are not in year 7 you can still read these books as the Library has copies of all of them. Here is a little bit of information about each of them. Which one would you choose?
Ring of words edited by Roger McGough: This book encourages children to see poetry as something lively and entertaining whic everybody can enjoy.
Dream on by Bali Ray: Baljit’s mates knew what was what. If you were good at football, really good, you could go places. But all his old man ever talked about was duty to family and paying bills. Baljit couldn’t just go on working in his old man’s chippie. He wanted out!
