On a cold winter night, the night of Christmas eve,
A little boy named Robert looked out to see,
A woman with white, pretty lillies in her hair,
Dancing around, spreading snow everywhere.

Her hair was white, flowing down to her waist,
Her eyes like jewels, set in a beautiful face,
Her smile was dazzling, like a person in love,
Her dress all ragged, as white as a dove.

And so she winked and bid him goodnight,
Telling the boy she looked a wretched sight,
For she was about to die as Christmas began,
The clock chiming midnight,
And so she met her end.

Seven years later, Robert still stood,
On Christmas eve, looking out the window,
To the Winter Queen dancing as she would,
Every winter,
Before she died,
A horrible demise,
To bring back the Spring season again.
